Kosher Certification Process

Your company contacts us by phone (208) 853-9200 or email. We will answer your preliminary questions and review the kosher certification process. Or you may choose to simply submit an application.
Submit Application
Complete and send your New Company Application to our office. The application form requests logistical information about your company and
your facilities, manufacturing proceses, as well as a list of the products you want certified, and their ingredients.
Idaho Kosher does not charge a fee for application and application review.

Initial Feasibility Inspection
We will set up an initial, comprehensive inspection and walk-through of your facilities. This inspection gives us a thorough understanding of your company's unique features. We will outline the procedures that your company must adhere to in order to receive and maintain kosher certification. There is usually a nominal fee for the initial inspection. That amount will be determined before the visit is made after which you have the choice to proceed with the inspection.
Your application and inspection report will be reviewed and we will advise you whether or not we can grant certification. In some instances, some system modifications may be required for certification to be awarded.

Contract
Upon approval of your company for kosher certification, we will determine a program for supervision and calculate your annual fee. The fee structure is based on a variety of factors, including the nature of the production and the amount of effort necessary to maintain your kosher program. We will then forward a contract to you for your approval.
Certification
Upon fully executing the contract and receipt of annual fee, a letter of certification is sent to you. If applicable, you may then submit your new product labels carrying the IK symbol for our final approval. Congratulations! You are now certified as kosher.
